Coffee Week and SPLAT (Sacramento Public Latte Art Tournament) have joined forces once again to create a grand finale event hosted at the gorgeous Vintage Monkey in downtown Sacramento. For the first time, we will have a FULL DAY of coffee attractions at a single location!

Daytime events include Sacramento’s finest coffee professionals hosting a series of coffee education classes while local baristas serve drinks from a free espresso bar featuring local roasters.

In the evening, we cut loose with the final round of SPLAT, a silent auction featuring items from local Sacramento businesses, adult beverages, music, and more!

Classes held from 9am-4pm. SPLAT, Silent Auction, and party from 6:30pm-10pm.

  • Farm to Cup

    Sunday Funday Specialty Coffee Week Kick Off Open House

    Come out and help us celebrate our passion for coffee and our farmers with an open house in the roasting area from 9am-noon, where our roasters will share the story behind each offering and custom roast a single origin or blend for you, followed by hourly free tastings and home brewing classes from Noon-4pm. Chef Luis will have a special coffee themed brunch menu going and we’ll have a few collaborations with Bike Dog Brewing on tap.

    Become a Home Barista

    Learn new skills to use at home on your Espresso Machine. Featuring demos on the Londinium R lever home espresso machine, you’ll learn the proper ways to pull a quality shot and steam the perfect flat white. Demos starting at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.

    World Tour Co-Op Cupping: A sneak peak of our upcoming fall and winter crops

    The Pachamama Coffee Cooperative is excited to host a cupping of our eclectic offerings at our Roastery and upcoming Coffeebar on 919 20th street during Specialty Coffee Week. This will be the first time the public will be able to taste these wonderful coffees. If you have never ‘cupped’ coffee before, or have NO idea what it is – don’t fret (it’s basically just a more involved coffee tasting)! We’ll teach you all you need to know about cupping coffee and why we choose to to do it over other methods of coffee brewing. Learn from our head roaster about the intricacies of the coffee, speak with our barista trainer over brewing methods, and taste some delicious coffee! Did we mention it’s free?

    Direct Trade & Direct Relationship

    Watch Short Films on coffee production from the farm with 2 Coffee Producers, Juan Luis Barrios, Guatemala and Jose Maria de Olivera, Brazil. Learn about the different ways Coffee Roasters work with their Coffee Producers to deliver a transparent cup to you. This is an interactive evening, all your questions are welcome and encouraged.

    Specialty Coffee Week Trivia Night

    Gather some of your smart friends and head on over to Fox & Goose Public House for a special Coffee Themed Trivia night hosted by Kevin Ice. Limit 4 persons to a team. Free to enter.

    Battle of the Brews

    Local baristas and bartenders will team up to prepare a craft cocktail using spirits and coffee to present to a panel of judges. Bottle and Barlow will host the competition and provide a unique coffee cocktail menu for this special event. There will be drink specials, music, and a lively crowd of Sacramento’s finest industry people.

    Ethiopia Coffee Ceremony & Free Tasting

    Join us for an Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony on the patio followed by a catered Ethiopia food tasting with Zion of Queen Sheba and an informal cupping of different Ethiopia offerings by some of our favorite local roasters.

  • Pushing Coffee Boundaries

    Coffee Infused Dinner Fundraiser for Guatemalan School Children

    Balbina Figueroa de Ortega’s school sits next to Finca La Merced in Guatemala. The children of the families who work the farm attend this school and we’d like to help with their social projects. The last few years this dinner has raised money to help with a computer lab and a fresh water collection system.     Come out and cheer on your favorite Barista’s & their teams in the first annual Pro- Am & Pro-Pro throwdown for charity, Co-hosted by our friends at Temple Fine Coffee & Tea.

    Coffee Tasting with Mokhtar Alkhanshali from Yemen

    Temple Coffee will host Mokhtar Alkhanshali of Port of Mokha in Yemen. Mokhtar will share his journey to revive specialty coffee in Yemen by working very closely with farmers over the course of many years, elevating their coffees and communities. Come taste some high quality coffee from Yemen!

  • Pushing Coffee Boundaries

    Coffeechella Music & Art Showcase

    A showcase of multi-talented Baristas from all over the City, who pour damn good coffee by day and sing, strum, and paint by night. This free concert series and pop up art show will feature one hour sets from multiple bands and an all day art show.

    Ever wonder how we come up with coffee flavor notes? Come learn how! The Temple training staff will discuss the coffee flavor wheel while exploring and tasting fruit, chocolate, and coffee samples for aroma, body, acidity, sweetness, and flavor. All palates welcome!

    Coffee Women Mentoring Coffee Women

    Hosted by Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters

    Our focus is to be able to connect coffee women who want to grow their careers in the coffee world and need someone to guide them from time to time.

    After hearing stories from a panel of accomplished women in coffee we’ll create connections to develop a mentorship to help you grow as a professional in the Coffee Industry.

    This is a first time mentoring event, come along and get inspired and make a great connection

    Sacramento Aeropress Competition

    Bring your Aereopress and coffee brewing skills to brew a great cup of coffee. Coffee provided by Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters and Temple Coffee Roasters. Aeropress provided or bring your own supplies, you can use a paper filter, metal filter, brew inverted or traditional. Practice time starts at 1pm with comp starting at 1:30pm. Sign up on line at
