    Old Soul @ The Weatherstone Anniversary Party/ Specialty Coffee Week Kick Off

    Old Soul @ The Weatherstone will be hosting an open house to celebrate our 10th year as Owners of the storied Weatherstone and it’s 40th year in business as a community cafe. Coffee Tastings, Food Specials and a fireside chat on our patio featuring Peter Roberts of Transparent Trade Coffee, Jeff Courson of Ally Coffee Importers, and Producer Anny Ruth Pimentel of Loma La Gloria in El Salvador.

    Cupping with Our Coffees

    Naked Coffee is proud to host Jose Maria from Our Coffees, a specialty coffee grower in Brazil. We will be sampling some special samples of experimental and limited edition coffees, as well as listening to a presentation on Our Coffees’ farming practices and history. The event is free to attend!

    Third Annual Battle of the Brews

    The third annual Battle of the Brews coffee cocktail competition will take place Sacramento’s well-known cocktail lounge, Bottle and Barlow. Bartenders and baristas pair up to create a unique craft cocktail using coffee and spirits of their choice while adhering to competition guidelines. Eight duos, in true coffee competition style, creat their drinks on-site within a 5-minute preparation period. The drinks are then scored by a panel of three sensory judges on expression of coffee and spirits, skillset, presentation, aroma, taste, and creativity. Free to attend! Drink specials all night!

    Coffee Trivia Night at the Roastery

    Join Coffee Enthusiasts like you to test your knowledge of the Specialty Coffee Industry. Teams will be made up of a mix of enthusiasts and professionals, so join us for a night of fun.

    4 rounds of 8 questions each. Teams are limited to 6 members. Admission is Free, Prizes for the top team.

    Armando will host the event with $1 of each beer sold going directly to the Campos Altos social Project in Brazil.

    Come watch the film “A Film About Coffee” at Badfish Coffee in Orangevale on our projector. The movie will start at 6pm, and lasts for just over an hour.

    Admission is free for movie night at Badfish. Our regular menu items will be available during the event.

    Find out all the interesting experiments our producer is conducting to increase the quality and taste profiles of our coffee. Meet Jose Maria de Oliveira from Fazenda Santa Luzia in Brazil. New varietals, non traditional processing and fermentation methods as well as what the future may hold for Specialty Coffee in Brazil. There will be time for Q&A, try a mocktail while you’re here, all proceeds from donations for mocktails go directly to Campos Altos social Project in Brazil.

    Meet The Producer With Jose Maria de Oliveira

    Join us for a very special evening where we will host a presentation by Jose Maria de Oliveira, the founder/owner/producer of “Our Coffees” Brazil, the producer and family in which we source our coffee. Learn all about the processing, traceability from seed to cup, and the social work they have developed in their community. As well as a presentation of our trip this past July to visit them.

    Come with questions, comments, interest. Leave more educated on specialty coffee.

    Coffee & Instagram Workshop

    Interactive workshop on how to set-up, capture, and edit amazing pictures of your coffee beverage as well as tips on curating your feed to look baller AF. The workshop is free to attend, every attendee will receive a complimentary drink of their choice to use during the event. (Slightly satirical with real tips and tricks on creating genuinely good photos while building a stronger community and presence of third wave coffee on social media.)

    Coffee Infused 4 Course Fundraising Dinner by Chef Mike Fagnoni

    Chef Mike Fagnoni, (Hawks Provisions and Public House) will create an amazing 4 course Coffee Infused dinner in our pop up dining room at our newest Café in Land Park. Meet the Producer Jose Maria de Oliveira, Fazenda Santa Luzia and hear a brief description of the Social Projects his Family has in store for the community of Campos Altos, Brazil. All proceeds go directly to this Social Project in Brazil. Seats are limited, this event sells out every year, tickets sold online at

    Cup Tasters Challenge

    Contestants will have six cups to evaluate with one cup as an outliar to be isolated from the others. Contestants will be judged on accuracy and speed.

    This is not a head to head event, the winner is only competing against the cup and clock!! Only the top three contestants will be announced as winners.

    There will be 2 rounds of competition with the top 3 finishers awarded points

    Points schedule:

    • 10 points for participation
    • 10 points for every round the contestant advances
    • 10 additional points awarded to 3rd place
    • 20 additional points awarded to 2nd place
    • 30 additional points awarded to 1st place + registration purse ($200)

    Sacramento Has Soul Specialty Coffee Week Benefit Concert

    An epic evening of performances by local Sacramento music stars Madison Sipes & The Painted Blue, Red’s Blues, and Jessica Malone & Giorgi Khokhobashvili performing as a duo. All proceeds will benefit the International Women’s Coffee Alliance and St. John’s Program for Real Change.

    Pre sale Tickets available for $15 on Eventbrite and $20 at the door.

    Home Brewing Seminar

    Please join us at our Southside location for our home brewing seminar. This seminar will be lead by our Education Director, Alex Muir. We will feature several different brew methods ranging from washed pour over to full immersion and pressurized methods. Participants will learn how each of these methods effects flavors and characteristics present in the brewed cup. Samples from each brew method will be available as they are brewed. This seminar is free to attend and participants should expect to be with us for about an hour.

    World Tour Co-Op Cupping: Preview Pachamama’s Fall and Winter Crops

    The Pachamama Coffee Cooperative is excited to host a cupping of our eclectic offerings at our Midtown Coffeebar on 919 20th Street. This will be the first time the public will be able to taste these wonderful coffees. If you have never ‘cupped’ coffee before, or have NO idea what it is – don’t fret (it’s basically just a more involved coffee tasting)! We’ll teach you all you need to know about cupping coffee and show you some techniques for brewing the perfect cup of joe at home. You will have the opportunity to learn from our Director of Coffee about the intricacies of the coffee, speak with our Cafe Director about various brewing methods, and taste some delicious coffee!     Seasons Coffee Club Launch Party at SacYard

    Seasons is back and we’re launching our Coffee Club during Specialty Coffee Week! Come by SacYard Tap House for lawn games, food truck eats, beer, and a chocolate and coffee pairing with Puur Chocolate!

    If you haven’t already, you’ll be able to sign up to join the coffee club while sipping on cold brew and playing corn hole. The first 100 people to sign up will receive a club tote bag and an enamel Seasons Coffee Club pin that will get you lifetime 10% discount off merch and coffee beans in our midtown cafe, opening this Spring.     Taste a flight of coffees with our Certified Specialty Coffee Association Trainer Elvira Conty Learn your favorite way to brew coffee at home, watch latte art demos and bend Elviss ear on anything coffee related you’d like to know.

    Any donations are gladly accepted for Fazenda Santa Luzia’s Social project for the community of Campos Altos, Brazil.

    Home Roasting and Coffee Sourcing Seminar

    Please join us at our Southside location for our home roasting and sourcing seminar. This seminar will be lead by our Master Roaster, Daniel Bear and also our Education Director, Alex Muir. Participants will learn how time, temperature, air flow, and external factors effect the roasted coffee seeds. The sourcing portion will focus on growth regions and processing methods. Coffee showcasing several different processing methods will be brewed and available for all seminar participants. This seminar is free to attend and participants should expect to be with us for about 90 minutes.
